Kasomeno to Mwenda Toll Road Project

  • Feasibility study in conjunction with Musa Group on behalf of the Development Bank of Southern Africa.
  • The project is located in Katanga Province of the DR Congo and Zambia.
  • The project comprises 181.6km of two- lane highway, a 345m cable-stayed bridge over the Luapula river and One Stop Border Posts with tolling facilities on either side of the border.
  • Drive over assessment of the route.
  • Preliminary alignment and earthworks design.
  • Preliminary design of the toll plazas and the One Stop Border Posts.
  • Preparation of cost estimates.
  • Life cycle and O&M costs.

Operation and Maintenance of the Nairobi Southern Bypass Project

McCurdy Associates were appointed as tolling specialists for the Nairobi Southern Bypass PPP project. The main tasks undertaken include:
  • Development of the O&M Plan
  • Development of tolling options and strategy
  • Engineering analysis of the toll-way conversion plan
  • Detailed implementation programme and budgets
  • Feasibility report
  • Preparation of the O&M specification
  • Input to the preparation of transaction documents

Melbourne Outer Suburban Roads PPP

Pacific Partnerships appointed McCurdy Associates to undertake a challenge team review of the tender for the OSAR project in Melbourne. The project included:
  • 600km suburban road
  • 25-year PPP
  • Full transfer of life cycle risk to the Consortium
  • Review of the routine maintenance costs and arrangements

Technical Assistance for the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway Project

  • Provision of technical assistance to the Uganda National Roads Authority
  • Project financed by the European Union
  • 5-year O&M contract including toll plaza operation and road maintenance
  • Improvement works to toll plazas, weighbridge facilities and provision of lighting
  • Deliverables include review of bidding documents, risk analysis of O&M implementation, report on O&M monitoring team, tender evaluation supports and templates for future O&M contracts
